SOHAS is a registered charity (no.1085464) that was established in 1980. We are based in Sheffield city centre at Exchange Brewery. Our main objective is to provide support and advice for people whose health is affected by their work and to help and support them to keep their job. Our work is funded by Sheffield City Council, Sheffield IAPT, Sheffield Carers Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support. The service we provide is free and confidential and is accessible for anyone who lives and works in Sheffield.
The main aim of SOHAS is to keep people in work. We work with GP's, clinicians and employers to ensure that people are given practical and common sense advice and support to keep them in work.
One of our current projects is working with Macmillan. Cancer Support and our aim is to provide advice for cancer survivors who wish to remain or continue in the workplace. If you would like some help and advice on any work and cancer issues call us on the number below or email us via Ask an Expert.
Appointments to see the advisors are available at our offices or at a GP surgery - the list of GP surgeries that the advisors have sessions at can be found here.
